George Muller

Hello! I am a data scientist at a large international development ministry working to release children from poverty. In my current role, I build analytics to help get what’s needed, where it’s needed, when it’s needed for millions of the most vulnerable children around the globe. This suite of analytics spans recommendation algorithms & optimization models that inform strategic decision making to forecasts & classification models. I enjoy bringing clarity, insight and understanding to complex problems wherever they pop up. Then seeing the impact of being able to solve those problems using tools I’ve built or contributed to. Working with incredibly talented team members to bring new ideas to life is incredibly rewarding.

Previously, I spent a decade and a half working in national security at a Department of Energy National Laboratory. I co-authored a book chapter on data science in national security, and another on applications in cyber security. Presenting some of my work on nuclear security at the White House was a unique privilege. My work with talented colleagues on pandemic modeling early in my career influenced CDC responses to both Covid and Ebola.
